A Single Christmas

Yes, it's that time of year were the Grinch comes out to play some tricks (or is that Jack Frost) and when Santa can take a joy ride on his flying sleigh and not get a speeding ticket. Yup, you said it. It's Christmas. The time when couples  wait in long lines just to stand under the plastic mistletoe. Luckily I am single so I will NOT be joining all of thoughs love birds in the freezing cold. So if there are any fellow single ladies out there I just want you to know that you're not alone this holiday season.

Apple Pie

I walk into a bakery and got hit with the sent. It was so strong that I'm surprised I didn't smell it from down the street. I knew what it was the minute I walked in. It was apple pie. It was in my opinion the best pie ever. I just loved the soft sweet and sour apples. Oh and that crispy crust. It made my mouth water just to think about it. So I walked up to the sparkling white marble counter top. The little old lady that lived in the house next to mine came up to the counter. She obviously knew what I wanted the minute I walked in. She handed me a large slice of that magnificent pie and said that it was on the house since I was the first costumer of the day. I strolled over to a seat that was calling my name. I sat right by the window, so I could watch people pass by. I picked up my fork and took a mouthful of the wonderful pie. The apples and the crust were baked to perfection. The spice ratio was marvelous. It was the kind of pie that you could eat all day. So now I sign of with an empty plate.

The Impossible

It just stood there.
Minding it's own business.
It didn't melt under the hot sun.

It just sat there.
Minding it's own business.
It didn't move an inch from where it was.

It was the impossible.
The most incredible thing ever.
It was the unmeltable ice cube.

Reaching for Rainbows

I'm being driven into the ground. I try my hardest to go up but it is impossible. Every time I get the chance to breathe, I choke on air because I'm not used to it. I try and try to make it through the day, but when I get home I cry my self to sleep. I don't know what to do. I just don't.
So I look to the sky and I try. I try so hard to. To just get one single touch. Just one single touch. I look to the sky and reach for rainbows.

I'm not Home yet.

I walk alone down this cold dark street. My long blond hair waving behind me as I walk into the harsh winds. Most of the street lights are on other than the two that flicker off and on. I wish that I was home in my nice warm bed. I could have been there if it weren't for that dumb bus that made me get of at the city dump for no reason. I just keep walking reminding my self that I was getting closer to my destination with every step. So there you have it. Here is were I am and I hope I'm not here any longer.

Rain Drop (haiku)

A small, clear rain drop.
It falls from the sky with grace.
It falls, then disappears.

A Colorful Question

I think at times that some things could be better in the world but I also try to think of how it would be if things were different. Like for example, the other day a though about how things would be if we didn't wear shoes. I thought about it and thought about it for so long that was thinking of nothing else.  I think of people walking down the street wearing every thing but shoes. Some even without socks. I think of how it would feel, walking beer foot everywhere.
So now I have a question for you. What would you do if you didn't wear shoes?
